NVIDIA to update mobile GPUs

although doubtless the thermal constraints of the notebook model are undoubtedly much lower.
You might want to tweak that a little :p

First we get quads and now we get 8800 GT's :D.

If it performs like an 8800GT then it should be called an 8800GT not a 9800GTX to get more sales. Like my friend thought he was getting such a card (Despite what i told him) when he got his laptop with an 8700GT M. My 7950GT smoked it.

With previous generations I would have disagreed as u could rely a bit closer on what the card is called is what is under the hood.

In recent times tho PP is pretty correct. With nVidia badging a G9x chip as an 8800 and botching other stuff, the name doen`t reflect anything much.

However I understand the reluctance to name it a 9 series, but I feel a 9300 or something would be better as that almost immediately tells people - this card isn`t going to rock a desktop pc-card.

I'm with you now I thought you were talking about something else. In that area I do agree, but not much can really be done. In any case a quad + a 9800M GTX would make a seriously nice laptop.

True, but if my GPU says 9800GTX i dont want it to perform like my buddies 8800GT and since he dosent understand then sit there and say my 9800GTX is a piece of crap or say idk
