Nvidia to offer DirectX 10.1 card?

Yeah is what I figured.

Only in the case of the likes of 9.0c etc, ur DxDiag will inform u that that is exactly what ur OS is running.

Atm all my Vistas show 10. Which means Dx10 is available for the apps that are installed. It hasn`t got 10.0a/10.1 or anything.

Afaic if Dx10.1 isn`t installed, games can`t use it. And if it`s implicated that 10.1 is something the gfxcard/drivers and the game use between them, then it`s not DirectX, as DirectX is part of the OS. Which to this point is still version 10.

Well whatever it may be the performance increase of "10.1" or "ATI Pwnage API" was shown in Assassins Creed and im guessing Nvidia didnt like that and so they slipped some cash to make it "disappear".

The basic ATI API kicks arse with Oblivion too tho, almost to the extent that it looks like freak results. I don`t think it`s anything to do with 10.1.

Think too many people are seeing the ATI perform better on certain things and jumping to conclusions.

Probably. Some games have always run better on ATI and vica-versa.

This whole dx10.1 patch thing is interesting, if not off topic lol. PP, when you say 'they released a patch to reomove it' who are you referring to? The game developer?

Ubisoft or whoever released the 1.02 patch for Assassins Creed. (Im guessing Ubisoft. They created the game right?) When the 1.02 patch was released supposed DX10.1 support was dropped and you saw a significant drop in performance with ATI cards.
