Nvidia to offer DirectX 10.1 card?

Difference between 10.1 and 10 being what ?

I know it`s API, but afaik, we don`t have Dx10.1 in vista, game devs may have 10.1, but relevance to games atm is what ?

Another reson not to buy a high end card is the 55nm die shrink nvidia is planning, this must be the new high end part in Q1'09 I've been reading about.

You lot see the price cuts on the 260/280's? $250/$550 iirc, already on newegg etc. That will have an impact on the upcoming 4870x2 @ $500...

10.1 - I wonder how soon it will be implemented, jeez, dx10 is hardly in use!

First off: the game will run on XP as well as Vista, with DirectX 10 being recommended but not required. As if that wasn't bad enough for the green team, which is working hard to shift new DX10 cards, the Direct X 10 included will be of the 10.1 variety - supported by DAAMIT but not the boys in green. This means that the best graphical experience might just be on ATI hardware.

As if that wasn`t bad enough ? I`m not understand where this reporter is feeling it`s bad for the green team that it`s installable on XP ? Freakin h8 reporters like this, the way the article is phrased, it`s all a calamity as far as `the green team` are concerned !?!?!

Not only this, but with the D3 being penciled for release Q4 2k9 - erm... we have another article that says nVidia`s next carnation will have 10.1.. Q4 2k8/Q1 2k9.. so... eh ??!

What he means is, if they dont have a card out by then, then the best graphical experience will be on ATI cards instead of Nvidia. Not only that but they will be sporting Havok instead of PhysX.

Yeah but he`s missing nVidia reportedly bring 10.1 by the end of this year/start of next year, and D3 being released at the end of 2009. Unless he don`t know that and just the day he wrote the thing saw a video of D3 thinking it`s out in weeks.

Im pretty sure he might not have known or either that or hes putting in card delays from Nvidia as a factor. Either way as it stands right now hes correct. The best graphical experience as of right now will be ATI with DX10.1.

U reckon ? I havent got 10.1 only 10, so it wouldn`t really mean anything to me. If my Vista doesn`t have 10.1, the card can`t use it surely ?

Lets face it, so far DX10 has failed hardly any games support the true 10 experience so Nvidia have nothing to worry about.

Mr Smith is correct, DX10 is hardly used now let alone DX10.1.

Well 10.1 showed a clear performance improvement for the ATI side of things in Assassins Creed until they released the patch that disabled it. Im sure if more games had support for 10.1 (like is being said will happen) then youd see the ATI side have a performance increase over Nvidia.

Shame software is left to catch up.

True. But the question is why did the 1.1 patch for Assassins Creed take out 10.1?

ATI realised they are rubbish?

I joke, I joke, most likely the result of hardware poltics.

Its alright, but is it good to wait another six months for the cards????bcoz they will keep launching new cards in six months and this way u cant buy one. It's like 2mrw never comes.

When i have the money i dont wait a few months. If a new card will come out maybe a week or 2 tops sure ill wait but i dont wait over that for a card. Im impatient

I`m still not understanding this.

The card has 10.1, the game has a 10.1 upd8, but Vista is only 10. ??

10.1 beta maybe ?

Afaic the game may aswell be Dx11.

10.1 is like a 9a,b,c. Still runs. If im to understand what ive read correctly dx10.1 is to an ATI GPU like CUDA is to Nvidia. Least thats how it was explained to me.
