Oooh interesting. I thought Nvidia were holding back the 275, maybe they it's got what it takes to defeat ATI's new card.

Webbo, I like your choice of words in the use of "defeat" !

Tell me, out of ATI and Nvidia, if one was the 'Dark side' and the other 'Jedi', which side would you be on ?

Dark side rules over you puny Jedi! We shall conquer and then the Force will be ours and then Lord Omega will destroy all thoes he encounters! Muahahahhahahahha! But i'm still backing ATI as the GTX probs will be like £280 knowing Nvidia and their prices :)

Aye the dark side is not cheap... :)

Lmao true so i hearby motion that ATI is made the Dark Side contender as that we the Dark Side can kick ass as ATI has been tending to be doing recently (Rasta i'm sure will argue against that) and at the same time ensure that the Dark Side is not too expensive :D!

Lord Omega has issued the Decree! All abide to his master's wishes!

Still quite oblivious as to why sites all over the net are wishing to compare one sides midrange+ single card to the others best single.

AMD the dark side, hehe.

Perhaps because of the fact they are meant to be around the same price, when you buy a Chrysler 300 you still compare it against a Mercedes C Class...

Why would u compare those two ? If u can afford the mercedes, u'd buy it. Don't think u'd buy a mercedes push-bike cos it's the same price as a Chrysler.

Some people are on a max budget ;)

Personally I prefer reviews comparing two (or more) cards within a budget range, preferably 150-250 or 200-300. €, that is.

Lol until you compare the two cant work out which one is the push-bike... all where saying is that if i had £250 and wanted a new GPU played alot of say COD:WAW doesnt it make sense to see which one gives you more FPS at the setting you want?

Neither the Dark side or the good side. I would be Jabba tbh, not answering to either side but have them beckon to my call.

Watching 'fit' birds (to him at least) dance around while having a princess in a gold bikini at my side hmmmmm.

Occasionally being guest of honour at the Pod races, and being a bookie for the whole galaxy. A pet Rancor in the basement and a Sarlac in the back yard. Eating local delicacies, smoking weed and decorating your walls with Carbon frozen enemies...

Sounds just up my street tbh.:D

Just got an email from novatech

Results for the hd4890 and the gtx275 are as follows.

HD4890 GTX 275

3d06 19321 19424

3d06 gpu score 9970 11138

Read a few reviews of the hd4890 and the gtx275, and they are nick and nick, both favouring the usual nVidia vs ati games. Both appear to oc v well withe the hd4890 reaching 1000mhz core!

What's intersting to me is that both cards are priced exactly the same, which makes performance comparisons simple. As with the HD4870 and the gtx260 the nVidia card has always been about £40 more. Which has detered alot of people from getting 5the gtx260 216 or 192 version.

I have observed that some etailers are already hiking up the price of the GTX275, about £10 premium if i recall over the HD4890.

Which card to go for boils down to which games to play and if you using the fold at home programe.
