Nvidia teases their Titan X Collector's Edition

Well I guess they need to find a way to sell Titans now that the Ti is out. I highly doubt this will be Volta, though.

Wow, Nvidia are really good at milking this cow. It's practically a skeletal husk at this point, but why stop now? I wonder how many suckers will buy this.

I hope TTL can get a review sample from NVidia, the existing Titan Xp is a really nice card and actually makes some of the highend 1080 Ti cards like the Kingpin and Kudan look like very poor value.

When I bought my Titan XP a while ago now I paid £675. I don't regret it at all. I've never seen a 1080Ti that can beat it.

looks interesting ,,, now the question is ,, is this nvidia just going to show us how powerful a titan can be , or just cause they can

most of us are otherwise we wouldn't , spend the money we do to play ,dice :)

but you are going to be right , some insane price because its a special edition

A standard new Titan Xp or even pre-owned XP I can understand but Nvidia being Nvidia are going to price this a lot higher than a Titan Xp for a simple aesthetic change and you will get people buying into this which to me at least is insane.

Nvidia can and will charge a nice Premium price just because THEY CAN..... nothing else. Some one will buy them for sure 100%.

I don't understand why people are in a huff about this. It's just a fancy looking LE version. Like the endless Corsair Dominator limited edition models, it's for the hardcore fans. I see nothing wrong with this. Joker tweeted that this card is what happens when there is no competition. What a load of trollop. This card would exist even if Vega could match or beat a Titan Xp. And you can't expect a tiny company like AMD (relatively) to match or beat the Titan Xp, so to say it's because there's no competition is ignorant. Vega 64 is better value than the Titan Xp, especially in some of these newer games. You could buy two Vega 64 GPUs for the price of a Titan Xp.

The people it's really going to annoy are the people who just got the Titan Xp thinking they'd have a few more months of having the top dog GPU, Imagine when this comes out and it's got higher clocks due to refinements, HBM2 instead of GDDR5X etc..... what a kick to the nadgers that would be ^_^

Yeah, that would be annoying. But I imagine hardcore Nvidia fans will still buy it all the same. Of course, what if it's just a fancy looking cooler with RGB and 11GHz memory? Not exactly ground breaking then.

It's why I moved to AMD as my primary GPU as I know I won't have the best top performance but I've not had anything to complain about while using the Vega 64 and at least I know once every 12'ish months I can buy their top end card and get great performance rather than Nvidia who release a new card every few weeks, I know it's not but it seems like it ^_^

I ended up selling my 1080 Ti for some extra cash that went towards my Logitech X52 Pro, Corsair Void Pro, Corsair ST100, Elite Dangerous ship kits+paints and various applications on Windows.

Don't bother me at all.

There is not much left that NVidia can do to a GP102 based card to make it any faster.

The only thing left is to raise the base clocks but that is easy to do yourself as well.

Yeah but you buy 8 GPU's a year as you're in the super enthusiast bracket, Which is cool and all but I'm talking about the people who buy a new GPU once every 3-4 years who only bought the Titan Xp a few months ago.

Nvidia could maybe add more memory, Higher clocked memory, Refined version of GP102 to further increase performance.

Nice!

I don't mind buying a new GPU every 12 months personally. I'd rather buy an 1080 or 290/Fury-type card (not quite flagship) every 12 months over one big ass GPU every 2-3 years. You pay more for more consistent performance, but you miss out on beastly performance for a period of time. I could have put more money into a 1080Ti, but I intend to upgrade again anyway so what's the point? A GTX 1080 or Vega 64 is enough power for me. Sadly Vega 64 was too hot for my tastes, but next generation might be more suited for me.

haha all these comments, and not one person knows what this collectors card is all about yet.

Feeding on the hate :)
