Nvidia Surround

So another lovely problem...

Whenever I turn on Nvidia surround, one of my displays gets a slight blur and some of the colors don't display correctly.

Setup:

3x LG (identical) 1920x1080 displays

2x Asus Matrix GTX 580s Sli

This is what I've managed to work out:

Its NOT the display: swapped displays around - same problem

Its NOT the HDMI cable: Tried other cable and works fine in extended desktop mode

Its NOT the graphics card: same as above

All I've managed to pin down is it's whatever display is plugged into the top graphics card whenever surround is on.

Any ideas, I'm learning towards driver issue but no-one else seems to be having the same problem.

Thanks for any help you can give

I'm not talking about 3D vision surround, just Nvidia surround, the equivalent to eyefinity.

So, when I "span displays with surround" creating 1x 5760x1080 display, whatever individual display is plugged into my top GPU becomes slightly blurry and off colour.

something to do with the drivers? are they upto date?

Overclocks (i no you said your cards are fine)

No overclocks

Latest drivers (same problem on the past 3 driver releases)

It's really strange, right now I have it in extended desktop mode and all 3 displays are absolutely fine, the second I turn on Nvidia surround the left display goes blurry.

It's not the sort of blur you get when you look at a 3d display without glasses, in fact I only noticed it originally when a line of text went across all screens and saw the difference.

Now I've noticed it I can't stop staring at it, it eventually gives me a headache and I stop playing

You said it's NOT HDMI, and you tried another cable, did you try another HDMI or a DVI?

My friend had multiple monitors connected to a couple of 460s SLI and with HDMI it was blurry and horrible, with DVI it is crystal clear.

That's a good idea,

The problem I have is that the left display is 3m away from the pc and I don't have a DVI cable that long.

I'll temporarily move the left screen closer and check let you know how it goes.

I'd definitely check if you are using the correct display connectors for the set number of monitors you are using. Sometimes you can only use set ports with your monitors, I know this affects Eyefinity greatly.

Probably quite out of my depth here, but have a check all the same

i was having a similar problem with my matrixes. same screen setup i had suround setup on 3 monitors and 285's sli worked perfectly. changed the cards + same screens = one gets lower resolution thus not getting the proper 5760x1080. it is a driver related issue me thinks, try an older driver that worked like 26x.xx series. i havent tried it yet but i am considering it.
