Nvidia rumoured to be announcing RTX Ray Tracing Tech next week

And unless this is supported by AMD as well it won't go far. Developers are not going to spend time and money developing for a graphics engine that ignores a minimum 30% of the market. :\

GameWorks already has gone far and will continue to do so. AMD cannot match it and the world knows it and that's why devs go for it many times over.

80% of the reason Nvidia cards are where they are is specifically due to there software support. That's how they differentiate themselves from AMD. That's also why AMD is basically copying them at every corner.

Remember PhysX? It was useless and hardly used. Yet everybodywanted Nvidia because it supported it. It was all software. Now look at them? They have led the way with software to aid there hardware. It makes them standout. Ansel is a massively amazing kit. What does AMD have? Nothing Nvidia doesn't. Nvidia is leading the way on software which got them ahead. All that extra money they made off that allowed them to poor resources into hardware and now we have our current state of the GPU climate with Nvidia owning 70% marketshare

I'm not going to get excited I'm not going to get excited..

Every time I hear about Ray Tracing I get all excited and then it never happens. I can't even tell you the amount of articles I have read over the past 15 years that have said "Within five years PC games could be Ray Tracing" only for it to fall flat.

So no, up yours Nvidia I am not getting excited. Yet.
