Nvidia rumored to release their GTX 1080 GPU in May

Titan 2
Titan 2 black
Titan 2 Z
Titan 2 X
makes sense?

Surely then they'd go for

Titan too black
Titan too zee
Titan too x
Titan too much money

Maybe Titwo, or twotan!!

Twotan black
Twotan Z
Twotan X

OR!

Twotun like how much it weighs, or

Twotun-0, how much it'l likely cost (2000)

Just call it the Titanic and watch it sink when the GTX 1080 Ti gets launched.

Very unlikely.

At the moment it is the 980 Ti struggling @2160p as there are games on the market like XCOM 2 and ROTTR that can use 10.5gb of memory, the TitanX is made for these.

Give it a year or two and who knows how much memory games will use.

Bring on the full fat Pascal part with 16GB HBM2 ^_^

I guess we're at that tipping point where Ram amounts have to start multiplying instead of incrementing :) Happy days!

Shame the performance doesn't do the same.

Wraith mate, that was gold :P Titan(s)ic

I like Tiitan, that works very well :)

In certain games at 1440P I've seen the 980 Ti's memory go passed 5GB and the general performance a little lacking and considering the 980 Ti is only 9-10 months old that's kind of annoying but higher amounts of memory would be awesome.

Problem I find with Vram now is that graphically the games don't seem to be improving a massive amount to require such large amounts of Vram to me, I know some of it is down to resolution and the whole VR race but still I don't think it justifies it.

I know ROTTR looks good, but for 2016 it doesn't have that "wow" factor that the likes of Crysis and Crysis 3 had for me.

Now all I seem to find is games just filling the Vram for the sake of it, I mean Call Of Duty, Titanfall, Elite, ROTTR and many more just almost instantly use the full 6GB of ram on the 980Ti's without really looking great.

Battlefield 4 iirc at 4K only uses around 4GB of Vram and looks as good as most games now, and iirc Jokerslunt did a video where he showed the textures on ROTTR uses 4GB at max but barely looks any different to low which only uses around 2GB.

Don't say things like that to someone looking to buy one shortly for that resolution :p

Makes me wonder how big the lack of optimisation is for that aspect... How's everyone doing at primal? That fills my 4 easily and is not even as good looking as FC4.

Nvidia is just being Nvidia.

I am a bit disappointed that 1070 and 1080 (what ever they will be called) won't come with HBM. Even though I'm an Nvidia user I kinda hope that AMD will murder these cards in performance, the only winners will be us the consumers, we get better products and hopefully lower prices.

I still believe that Nvidia is keeping the TI models back because they want people to invest in the other cards first and then upgrade, It's a douchebag move yes but wouldn't we all try to earn more money if we could?

I'm still running 780 TI and really wanna upgrade but to be honest I'll wait for TI or I'll buy the AMD cards if they outperform 1070/80.

Does it not make sense to use all available VRAM? Why would you buy a flagship card if you wanted efficient usage? We want games to be scalable.
