Nvidia RTX 3080 Founders Edition Review

He might have bought it from CCL but he'll be waiting :) I had a run in with them a few years back with I bought a Sabretooth 990FX Gen 3.0, took my money and it arrived 2 months later. I have absolutely no doubts that'll he get an 3080 but I'd be fairly confident of a shipping delay.

Ref the reviews, I would be feeling a bit peeved if I jumped as an early adopter, then Big Navi arrives and Nvidia respond with double memory variants :p - seems strange that the 3080 only comes with 10GB which nullifies its greatest advantage, 4K stuff. The Samsung 8nn node seems weak, if RDNA2 comes on at 1.6 of RDNA then we might have a scrap on our hands :D

Doesn't matter to me, I'm getting a 6900 no matter and throwing a water block on it. Then I'll get a 4 or (5, some think they might skip the 4000 series on the desktop) 950X and Slap in 64GBs of whichever memory it likes best and seal it all up till 23.

All AIB cards here never had any other label than pre-order here (although that is pretty much common here for a month or so). Ah we'll see :)

I find the performance of the Founders Edition compared to the AIB's quite interesting, Watching a few videos and Nvidia did a good engineering job of the F.E, Seeing it on par or 1-2FPS ahead od the likes of EVGA etc... I doubt there's much left to squeeze out of it on air.

Them keeping the best binned ones for themselves certainly helps here but yeah, they've done well!!

Do you need GeForce experience for DLSS? Never used it as I prefer manual driver (un)install. Is it good?

Close the thread.

The FE 3080 does not exist, its an internet myth.

None for sale, no one got one.

Disgusting appalling product launch NVidia.....

Indeed, I'm getting the more powerful 3090 FE but well after it launches, This is just a paper launch to make sure they got something out well ahead of AMD + the AMD powered consoles with mainly only reviewers getting units, I expect the same thing to happen with the 3070 and 3090.

Scalpers appear to be depicting pics taken from reviews - the ones I've seen anyway - which I find highly suspect.

I would also like those people that supposedly got cards to come forward. Yep sounding like a lunatic right now ha ha, merely curious and skeptical is all. And Nvidia it's official apology is like listening to your full of bullsh*t manager; a lot of blah blah blah. :p

It wasn't a paper launch from my perspective; they said including their Dutch site: available from 17 September. It's not.

In fairness, if none of our regulars has any, then they're not going to come forward on OC3D. I've seen people on Facebook and other forums have successfully ordered one.

But it won't be $700. The 3090 is not THAT much bigger of a die than the 3080, yet it's twice the price. I imagine a large portion of that cost is going to the vast amount of expensive VRAM. The 20GB 3080 is likely going to be $800 or even $850. You won't see the performance benefit of that extra cash in many instances. A lot of people won't deem it necessary, especially if they're at 1440p where 10GB is more than enough.

What happened to getting Big Navi and not supporting Nvidia?

Its Dice. Just give up :D

He will bounce between AMD and Nvidia about 10 times before next gen comes.

Just an FYI - I know Gigabyte sold all 500 cards in the UK within minutes

500 cards from one brand is not a paper launch

There was also a retailer in Austin Texas that had 85 cards to sell, and over 300 in queue standing outside to pick them up.

Dawid does tech stuff's store had 2 and he was third in line :D

I had to LOL.

It may as well be. You hype up millions of people then send out 500 cards.

Still, I got a nice cheap 2080Ti. So I am not complaining.

I'm not complaining about low stock no. LOL I didn't want one :p

I am complaining though because even though I didn't want one it's caused a massive pain in my ass !

I ordered a new res and HDD last Friday. Four days later I found out they didn't have the HDD in stock. OK please refund me and send the res, as I am waiting at my mother's for it.

It didn't ship. And due to the crappy 3080 it's cost me another two friggin days. I couldn't even contact them yesterday because their site collapsed. So now I am stuck here all weekend over a bloody res.

*mumble grumble moan complain*

It's expected on any launch, they did sell out fast on Nvidia's site for many reasons, but all the websites were lagging and crashing demand was so high that even if they had a normal amount it was never going to be enough. Demand is so high they had no chance of filling demand even if they had twice as much, but as always it will calm down and supply will go up.

The 3070 thou now that will be an even quicker seller than the others that is the card most people are really hype'd over, can see these cards selling like this for months tbh.

I didn't want to buy one but even just looking on sites was an issue all i wanted to do was check prices, but some pics here and there i saw prices on some a lot higher than the £649 the tuf GPU thou seemed to be the cheapest and it's actually a good buy at it's price.
