Nvidia releases their Geforce 375.86 Game Ready Driver

I'll be happy as soon as they fix the driver making my monitor the default audio output every freaking time. I don't even install the HD audio component. Jayzus.

Have you tried disabling it in your sound devices? and then defaulting a different device?

I have five sound devices on my PC. Three physical cards, one external USB card and a USC DAC which is also a full sound device and I just disable what I don't want.

The Nvidia driver recently defaulted to my monitor (I had it disabled in Device manager also) so I just switched it in the audio properties (playback) and it was gone :)

Edit. Right click the speaker at the bottom right, go to playback devices. Right click what you don't want and disable, it will vanish. Then right click what you want as the default sound card and recording device and set it.

Edit. The worst part of these new drivers for me was Share being automatically enabled. The hot key is CTRL Z. If you've ever used Photoshop you will know why that is so much fail, as undo repeatedly is CTRL ALT Z. So basically it stopped Photoshop functioning. Took some working out, that.

Please update this post about the latest drivers. It is causing MASSIVE issues for many.

Games reported to be showing 25fps when 60fps was possible prior to update. Nvidia has acknowledged the issue and working on a fix but until then dont update to this release. Other issues include Screen flickering, CTD, and more concering is the locked down memory frequency of 810MHZ

Updating to this driver is not advised.

This is in minor cases, I've updated the driver on my 1080, My housemate updated his 980 Ti and 1080 rig and zero downclocking issues.

It appears to be random or as usual on the internet it's user error and people are going bat poop insane.

You always say user error. You never admit sometimes they have issues. It happens
Also, all he said was don't update, to avoid the issues, he didn't say it's guarantee it will happen. Nothing wrong with that, bettsafe than sorry

I've never said Nvidia don't have issues please don't put words in my mouth bud that's not a cool thing to do.

Nvidia do have issues just like every other company on this planet but the vast majority of time these issues, As with every company, Are blown way out of proportion by the internet.

You always counteract everytime an issue comes up. That's your actions speaking, not your lips.
As I said it happens, they have a lot of these lately and the quality seems to be lower. Same with AMD before Crimson came out. That's all I'm saying about it?
I don't see an issue with everyone blowing it up, it's better safe than sorry and less people that get it better that is. it will get Nvidia to fix it quicker too which is the best solution possible and outcome

In reality what I actually say is that these problems get blown way out of proportion not that they don't happen, Maybe not here but if you frequent other forums or see this on Facebook people are quite literally having nervous breakdowns over it, For example the EVGA problem, People were threatening some very violent actions against EVGA employees hence me saying people blowing it way out of proportion.

I rarely have issues and I am suffering terribly with screen flickering again. I made a post saying not to upgrade. I didn't go "bat poop insane". It was fixed previously with a hotfix so I know this isnt user error. Also when Nvidia admit to the problems, I don't really care if its user error or not, clearly something is wrong. And so updating is not recommended.

You and your housemates or work colleagues, always seem to share the same issues when you have some or dont get any problems at all when others do ;)

Regardless though, when some are getting clocks locked, even in minor cases this has to be treated as high importance.

I have maximum respect for Hilbert Hagedoorn so when he reports this and advises against doing something, I am very much inclined to heed his warning.

As for people threatening others, its those crazy ones who have no filter on the internet. You see it in twitter posts on politics, religion etc. Just because its the internet they think they dont need to hold back without repercussions

Well no that's just plain false and yet again putting words in my mouth, Just because I share a few things that have happened doesn't mean it's like that all the time.

The last 2 drivers have given me annoying intermittent flickering, Switching to 120Hz and back to 144Hz resolved this however, The latest driver thankfully fixed that though but my housemate who now runs a 1080 Strix didn't have that problem at all.

I didnt get this issue for any of my nVidia rigs. All used DDU to clean wipe first. Hopefully nVidia will address this quickly.

Lol, so should you DDU drivers first AND THEN install the new drivers?... Lol, then Nvidias own program does a terrible job of removing the former driver prior to installing the new one.
