Nvidia release their own Mass Effect Andromeda PC system requirements

Soo... another drastically inefficient console port then?

That depends on how well it runs on consoles. if the XB1 runs at 720p then it is about right, but it really makes all that 4K 60FPS gameplay questionable at best.

According to various articles the standard PS4 is running ME:A at 1080P 30FPS, Xbox One at 900P 30FPS and PS4 Pro at 1800P using checkerboard rendering and 30FPS.

Then I'd call all that 60FPS gameplay false advertising, as they are showcasing performance that almost all gamers cannot achieve without stating that the gameplay is a PC capture.

TBH I think resolutions and framerates should be clearly stated by developers, at least on consoles anyway.

If you are referring to the recent 13 minutes of gameplay from IGN then since that footage showed Xbox controller prompts and Scorpio is not out yet anyone that turned on their brain for a second should have been able to figure out that the footage has to be from the PC version of the game.
Of course it wouldn't have hurt for them to say somewhere that the footage was from PC but again anyone that decided to think should have still been able to piece it together.

Nice you aren't you XD

You would be surprised by how stupid some people are, hence why I think that further clarification is needed from the developers.

It seems difficult to imagine that anything under a GTX 1080 SLI setup will be able to run this game at 4K 60FPS with Ultra graphics, then again "Ultra" and "Max Settings" has always been overrated.

You'd be surprised how many people on Reddit that think the footage is PS4 pro, and that think the consoles will run at 60FPS.

Then I assume none of those people actually watched the video and just saw 4k 60fps in the title and went "Yep must be PS4 Pro because nothing else could do 4k."

I am not disagreeing with you but that people need to be expressly told something like what platform a 4k 60fps video was recorded on is kinda sad to me, considering none of the consoles on the market are able to do that with most (if any) games. I will say this since it would have taken IGN about 1 second to type "PC Footage" in either the description, title, or in text somewhere in the video they don't have a good excuse I just find it sad that some people can't use their brain to do some fairly simple problem solving (obviously the problem being the question "What platform is this footage from?").

I think we'll be more likely to see a cow jumping over the moon than developers stating console resolution/framerate targets consistently ;)

You'd call it false advertising? Really?

"Publishers showcases game footage at maximum settings and 4K resolution and uses an ultra-high-end PC system to power it". Less of a revelation and more of a no sherlock moment.

This is normal practice. At no point have they said that 4K 60fps was going to be achieved easily and could you please cite a recent high profile release with high fidelity visuals where this easily achieved without an uber system?

Well. Most games have to indicate the fact in the advertising to some extent, as required by advertising laws in various large markets, and have been required to do so for a good long while. I can think of at least 4 or 5 high profile games in the past couple of years that have been caught out by various legislation implementations.

They have to indicate what? I don't believe the advertising regulations stipulate that they have to put the specs of the machine it's being run on to provide the footage.

The regs state that they have to indicate, where applicable, whether something is game footage or not. Beyond that there is no regulation for it.

What I'm trying to say is that you're taking issue with this as if it's new when it's always been this way. If you're promoting your product you're going to show it in the best possible light. You're not going to show it at medium settings just because that is what the majority of players are going to play it at. It's the same with anything. There really isn't any basis to your argument aside from publishers being transparent about what's what.
