i've actually done a lot of reading since that post and as far as i can tell a quadro can actually be bootstrap modded and in coalition with the quadro drivers act/perfrom just like a quadro (the gf6 series did this). that is why they discontinued desktop production of quadro's. the mobile line, is the last wave of quadro's to ever be produced. but everyone over at xs has pretty much agreed that unless you're rendering shrek or ice age very few people will notice a difference between the quadro and high end geforce cards. if you want to know why, let me know, i'll give you a link.
