Nvidia officially reveals their RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards

Guess I'd rather get an entirely new platform with that amount of money and wait a little longer. My 1070 is barely getting used these days anyways...

They'll all be sold to scalpers in about 30 seconds anyway so I can't even be bothered to complain about the MSRP pricing on these. Between the various cryptos driving up prices, along with the chip shortages and scalpers all this gaming stuff is fast becoming more trouble than it's worth.

So, Something like a 60% (ish) price increase for what, A 10% (ish) performance uplift over a vanilla 3080....niiiiice :rolleyes2:

..and the saddest part about it is that there's no shortage of idiots in the PC gaming space who think that's a good deal and will line up to throw money at Nvidia.:banghead:

MSRP is largely irrelevant.

Few are going to buy them at that, and with the 3070Ti FE knocking on the door of £500-600 going by what we know, the next move is likely to remove the 3080 FE cards altogether, avoiding the cost comparison entirely.

Right now, unless you are one of the fortunate few, a 3060ti is £800+, and 3070 is a £1000 card. In this climate, a £1200 3080 fits.

The danger for us as consumers is that Nvidia are moving to normalize these prices, so that after the supply issues are fixed, which is not likely until the 40 series cards appear, if then, a supposed entry level 4060 could be a £500 card.

At that point, its sensible to just switch to console for gaming.

With the ever increasing prices I can see many opting out as cost of living is not getting cheaper but things are getting more expensive.
