Nvidia leaks 7800GT

Sounds painful to me but it seems nvidia are gonna announce another quality card.

The new one will be slower than the 7800GTX but will have the same pipes and still be SLi ready.

This is according to the Inquirer.

To be fair I'm getting more faith in the Inquirer, so this may well be true

It will be a slower clocked version of the same G70 chip that we all see as the Geforce 7800GTX series. We suspect that it will be just a slower clocked card with same number of pipelines but we could not confirm this at press time. We don’t have the core clocks for you, yet. Nvidia wants to keep if quiet, even to its partners.

Well thats pretty good news. The GT was a great card and this should help nvidia out with its yields. It means that all the GPU's that are more speed binned than the GTX ones will go to the GT card. Nice

Don’t be scared that Nvidia will fade away the Geforce 6800GT and 6800 cards as it plans to continue shipping those cards together with Geforce 7800GTX and newcomer 7800GT. We believe that generation six of the cards will drop down in price but we can not confirm this. All the se cards will support Shader model 3.0, HDR and will be SLI compatible.

So that's all good too. Time for some of you to pick up a nice 6800GT!!

hmmm thats pretty interesting. NVIDIA realy seems to speed things up since the last few month's i mean the 68 U PCI-E is still very new and then they announce the 78 GTX and shortly AFTER THAT THE 78 gt ? But nice work there Kempez.

Well the 68XX have been out nearly a year now and so they need to keep pace. And I love your sig

hummm thanks... but the 512 Mb Version of the Ultra is still very new... nah anyway... just compare with ATi they are not doing anything atm....

Um. I think ATI's card will be good. Then nvidia will release their Yltra. The ATI will release a 32 pipe card. Then nvidia will release.....etc etc

ohhh well i dont think one of them will realy dominate forever but thats good like that. Keeps the prices a little lower then they could be.
