Is it just me or does the name rather suggest something big for computing and science instead of gaming?
Why not bring Volta for GeForce first?
All I thought of when AI gaming-centric processing could be a possibility was a narrator just haranguing your every move in games.
"Well that was stupid!"
"Wow, I guess that's one way to do it."
And so on.
Will be interesting to see how it stacks up to a 1080 Ti![]()

I reckon they will continue the same level of progression as they have for a while.
Meaning the next gen cards are 1 tier performance higher than previous generations. So a 1080ti would = a 2080, a 1080= a 2070, etc. I don't expect much from this. It's probably using 12nm which in the grand scheme of things isn't much different than 14nm so they don't gain much from it in terms of more available space to use for cores.
I don't see anyone buying AMD card for gaming, apart from die hard AMD fans, and most of them will be converted, buy choice or, buy lack of other option.
That's pretty much already happening if the Steam hardware survey is anything to go by.
Unfortunately it's not an accurate survey. Which honestly sucks because if there's one source of information that would be important it would be Steam. I think every month they should have at least 33% of their users automatically get a survey and then the next month of a different batch of 33% get the survey etc.
Or at the very least split it into 12 groups for all active accounts over 12 months. Just my 2 cents
I think it would also be interesting if they tracked users upgrades
So it's like gaming with Twitch chat or a Dark Souls fan?
Maybe the AI will play the game for you?
That's a good point. However Fermi was a famous physicist and we all know who Tesla was, right? to people like us - god.
I think they have been doing it for years. Very odd that they've not used the name Edison, but then he really wasn't a very nice guy. He was a genius beyond genius, but yeah not the nicest of human beings.
Edison was a cheat and liarand not very nice. Probably didn't go down well in the marketing tests.
You do have people like Gilbert who coined the "electricity" phrase... but well not a very usable name to strike interest is it
Other names to use
Somerville
Babbage
Forbes
hmm absolutely loads of historical mathematicians and physicists actually.
Yup. He was a nasty sod. That's putting it mildly. He was a genius but sadly he was also a complete feckin douche. Rubbishing Tesla and AC and promoting DC (which is far more dangerous and all of those reasons) and pretty much making sure Tesla spent his days broke and homeless. I guess the American in him just couldn't help it.
Which sickens me, given Tesla was probably THE most intelligent, creative person ever to have lived.
I did, however, visit where he used to do all of his experiments and stuff. Not totally by choice.. Our main office was based in Edison NJ and I had to go up there (about 2 hour drive) for a seminar so I figured bugger it, will have a look around the place before I go back.
