Nvidia GTX 1070 specifications detailed

I will be looking at this card closely before I buy it. If it knocks spots off my 290X Vapor X "which I would imagine it will" I hope I can find one that is just as good looking in my rig :)

Yea I understand that, you did point out the failings of some Maxwell cards with that particular title, while we were gaming as a group in GTA V, MrKambo on a 980, Kilbane on a 970, Tripp on a 970 Strix I was running the 750Ti in the beginning too.

Strange that Maxwell was having issue with GTA I might have to look into this further, maybe narrow down the route cause somehow.

I initially raved on about it quite a bit as it ruined my GTA V experience and was frustrating. After reading all the failed attempts to resolve the issue on other forums, I gave in and requested an RMA. I wasn't sure it it would work, but it did. I wasn't even sure if they'd accept the card, but they did and GTA V never crashed again. I want others who are still plagued with this nuisance to see that sending the card back for a refund might be the only option. If I say it a little too much, I do apologize. I don't hate nVidia, but I certainly found my experience with the 970 to be frustrating—the 3.5GB of VRAM lie added to that. Apart from the abysmal overclocking on the Fury cards, everything else has been a smooth experience with my AMD card. Since I have a Freesync monitor now, I'm stuck buying AMD even if nVidia are still making superior flagship GPU's.

It wasn't just Maxwell that was experiencing the crash, but Maxwell was the most common denominator. Why? Either because Maxwell and GTA V had a compatibility issue, Maxwell had a flawed design and nVidia was sending out faulty GPU's, or simply Maxwell was so popular that it appeared to be only affecting Maxwell cards when in fact maybe the percentage was equal to the R9 290, R9 380X, GTX 680/770, 780, etc.

Thats a thought I just bought a freesync monitor so AMD would be preferable for me as well

Some form of variable refresh rates is not absolutely essential for me, but it's worth waiting for Vega to keep it. Even if Vega is again not quite as good as Pascal just like Fiji wasn't quite as good as Maxwell (in my usage), I'm still willing to wait and invest in AMD due to my monitor, and also the fact that I feel AMD deserve itt. I quite like what BenQ offered with the XL2730Z. IPS technology just wasn't up to scratch when I was looking to buy a new screen. I would have loved to have had an IPS panel, but the quality control and prices were appalling. I'd rather stick with a good TN (only two dead pixels that I can't see, no BLB, no input lag/latency, no colour shifting, no dead inputs, only €550) than risk paying €800 for 6-8 dead pixels, BLB, and yellowing.
