NVIDIA GT200 rumoured to retail for $499

£250.... (although more realistically £300 or so)

Hmmm, sounds like it`ll come out and kick "just enough" butt - instead of pwning the playground as it probably should.

Maybe the GT.. Maybe a GTX..

This blows for me!

If it kicks gx2 ass then I want it. I won't know how it performs until it is out. By then the gx2 price will have dropped killing my resale value. I could risk selling in advance and being without my PC for a bit which wouldn't be a bad thing as it's just gathering dust atm.

Anyway a true single card solution that beats the gx2 is ideal!

Think I might buy an EVGA 9800GTX as I've had my eye on one fairly cheap for a little while. I'll sell my 8800GT and then use the step-up to the GT200s if it works out cheaper than flogging the GTX and buying new.

Doing the same here. Just ordered a EVGA GX2 SSC a week ago. I've now got 3 months with it before the step-up ends so thinking about upgrading it when the GT200's come out. Maybe even 2!

Yeh it tends to be june-july, november is usually when the mid range card are released.. the flagship cards come in june july.

Ok, well I looked into the step-up option, and it's just stupid. It's just not anywhere near worth it.

Cost of an EVGA 9800GTX SC £188 but if you happened to be stepping up to one, it costs €369.00 which is about £302. So if you happened to have an EVGA 9600GT and wanted to step-up to a 9800GTX, you will pay the difference from your card up to the MSRP in Europe of the GTX which is £300 quid. You would be better off selling the 9600GT and saving £112 and just buying it new.
