It wouldn't be a big deal if they didn't lock out AMD and give AMD nothing but problems working with it... AMD literally can't crossfire in these games it just breaks their drivers. That's been consistent with every game so far. Witcher 3 is the only game currently that supports AMD very well while supporting Gameworks.

I understand it's a great tool and very beneficial for devs, I don't deny that, but Nvidia are just using it the way they are to force AMD out. They are just using their marketing power over them.. Cons outweigh the pros here.

Agreed, Personally I think AMD need to make some in game FX exclusive to AMD GPU's just like Nvidia have done, Something that will make people go "Woah, I want that !".

Open source is good but ultimately for business it can be your downfall.

Yes it can be. However they already have TressFX and Truaudio. It's a start but not the scope of what Nvidia has, which would explain there lackof anything equal to Gameworks. I think if they included a SDK that helped aid in the programming of memory for the HBM, that would be a very very solid improvement to their lineup of SDKs for devs.

There has been talk of AMD trying to make an OpenWorks SDK than competes with GameWorks, but I think that they simply do not have the money to get that going right now.

Don't think it's the money as much as it is resources tbh. It is really good that they aren't ignoring the Gameworks stuff though, however think Openworks is kinda an ugly name. They should be creative about it and not just copy them:p
