While business wise it makes sense to save memory for the higher end models, It sucks for people who don't want the top end.

Another day, another Nvidia anti-consumer move. The 5070 Ti is regarded as one of the best bangs for buck these days. A lot more people can afford the 5070 Ti than a 5080 or god forbid a 5090. But Nvidia would rather use the memory for supplying the data centers and milk as much money as possible from gamers by leaving them with no other options other than the high end if they want 16Gb of Vram. There is no end to their greed.
