It's official then, new Quadros are coming.
So maybe just Quadros that are coming and not any new GTX 1180/2080 then?...

While it's great a new GPU series is coming out, I'm genuinely not even the slightest bit excited, I'm more excited about getting new headphones next week ^_^

Given how many gimmicks Nvidia have had over the years to try and get one up on AMD (things like Physx, 3Dvision etc) I don't trust that what we will be getting at a gaming level will even be very capable at RT.
What I mean is, see that big old clump of deep learning stuff that is on the Titan V? (the double precision etc whatever they are calling it (yes I've had a brain fart as I am typing this and can't think)? well I am somewhat convinced we will not be getting that on gaming cards yet. And given without it RT runs about as poorly as a car filled with water instead of petrol? yeah, I have a feeling it is going to be Nvidia's new carrot (RT that is).
The fact is? none of it excites me at all. For the first time in all of my years of being into the PC scene (as I took a few years out to swap countries and etc) I am just not excited by anything.
I think it is all made worse by the fact that this second round of mining happened and we all got screwed so blatantly and obviously that it has left quite a severe taste in my mouth that I can not seem to spit out and get any enthusiasm back.
I needed a PC for my mother's house to game on when I am sick. Like now, when all I am capable of is plotting suicide notes in my head and figuring out who I am going to leave my s**t to. That is how bad I am ATM. Anyhoo, I spent two weeks solid trolling Ebay and god knows where else and the best I could come up with was an offer of a GTX 680 for wait for it..... £130. As you can imagine I told the bloke to get bent, and ended up having to strip and entire rig down just for the GPU to put into this rig.
All for what? just so I could play my games I had paid for.
In all of the years of being screwed over with tech that didn't take off and spending many thousands of pounds on it only to be disappointed I don't think I ever became that enraged at the PC hardware scene. To the point where I literally did something completely different, just to show my contempt.
And I think it broke something in me to the point where Jen can pretty much shove all of his ideas and that ghey ass leather jacket he wears up his tiny little poophole.
OK so I am waffling on, but this is how bad it is right. I have fallen in love with a console. Not just a little bit, but totally and completely love my console with all of its over priced games and online features. I really can't get enough.

Volta without DP, Tensor cores, Raytracing etc performs almost identically to Pascal on a core by core basis using SP.
Or putting it another way the only performance gains anyone will see if upgrading to Volta for gaming is if the card packs more SP cores than the Pascal card it is replacing.
