According to Gamer Nexus, GPU prices this year are going to rocket astronomically due to shortages.
if current flagships are priced as they are now.. what happens with next gen!
If that's the case I may actually just get a PS5 and call it a day for PC gaming, I only got a 2080 Ti FE because I got lucky and a family member helped, No way I'm spending over £800 on a GPU for minimal gain over a console, Yes I said it, AlienALX can back me up with that claim ^_^
You meant to say that mommy bought you a 2080ti ?

Wasn't his mum.
On Topic
Like most I expect these to be priced stupidly high, well over £1400 for the reference model with the likes of Asus Strix and MSI Gaming X types being over £1600.
It really is pushing me more and more towards console only gaming because AMD are not competitive in the GPU market, yeah sure the rumours of the 5900xt sound good but the cost I reckon of those is going to be over £1k.
Prices of components are getting out of hand these days, I use to do a full upgrade every year for around £1500, now that won't buy you a CPU, Mobo, Ram and GPU if you want top end.
I think it will be default 1500 + more for the AIB or high end.
I also think im about to be inducted into the "purchase previous gen at lower cost" club from here on.
I've been more impressed by Gears 5 and Red Dead 2 on a Xbox 1x and 4k monitor than any PC game in ten years including anything RTX.
It's all relative. It's so nice to have no expectations and then to constantly say "wow" over and over again.
Give me next gen consoles any day. PCs need humbling again back to where idiots like Jen don't act like rock stars.
Yup. Let's not forget, both next-gen consoles will be backwards compatible with previous gen titles. Xbox is already backwards compatible with some games from the 360 era and it offers even some of the original Xbox games. So it's not like in the old days when you're buying an empty box with nothing but launch titles. Add to that the insane pricing of PC parts and the fact that game sales aren't what they used to be 5 years ago, and the prospect of going full console peasant becomes a lot more attractive.I have yet to be wowed by anything on PC as much as I was wowed by God of War and Spiderman both on PS4 Pro the latter of which I played recently, If this trend continues of PC being vastly more expensive for not really much more eye candy, Some of which you have to do pixel peeping side by side screenshots of to see the difference, Then I can see myself halting my PC spending and only upgrading when I absolutely need to and getting a PS5 next Christmas.
When prices drop on the Navi cards they'll get my recommendation but I still think they're too expensive.
£300 is where they need to be, because you can buy a whole XB1X with games for that much.
The 3600 on the other hand is a hands down winner.
This !
Having recently played RDR2 on an XB1X on a 4K TV, I was really impressed, With next gen consoles it will only get better and minus various niche options on PC I can see PC waning in popularity especially as the prices keep going up and up and people have less and less money to throw around.
Last nights 5600XT is a 5700 with less VRAM/BW at $279 (£210 direct conversion)When prices drop on the Navi cards they'll get my recommendation but I still think they're too expensive.
