nvidia 3.72 driver oc issues

anyone noticed instabilities in their gpu overclocks since updating to the latest driver, I'm noticing that my gpu has dropped from 2050 to 2025 and I cant push it any further.

Ive rolled back my drivers and my overclock was back to normal????

Have NVidia adjusted the TDP for the gtx1080 in this driver?

Interesting, I'll look into this when I get home and test a few other drivers too.. I hit a rather low 1050 ceiling on my memory with the 1070 using the latest drivers any higher would just lock up the bench.

8Pack not so long ago said something along the lines of Nvidia doing something behind the scenes to kind of bugger up overclocking.

780 is doing ok. but i have had drivers that dont work with over clocking "and i mean if it wasnt stock it was a crash, +10 = crash"
this set of drivers have me running a bit hotter but speeds are consistent.

Reading around some other forums someone mentioned something about a 50w drop in max tdp that could explain whats happening.

I really notice it as i pushed my 1080 balls to the wall when overclocking it and benched the hell ou of it for stability and as soon as i installed the new driver my clocks dropped immediately and required me to add more to the core to reach the same clocks which my card wont take.

Im back on 369.09 and my oc is sweet as a nut. I really hope nvidia are not intentionally buggering up overclocking on a card they advertised for overclocking

Well foremost from recent posts here on OC3D and from what everyone here knows when it comes to Nvidia... It wouldn't surprise us if they did ^_^

if it is some TDP based trickery then that would explain why im unaffected as i edited my bios and adjusted the tdp limit as it was throtteling me at stock votages at 40c under water.
So i knew it was the tdp limit that kept throtteling me down.
