So i have been on the watercooling the last 6 to morths, but after a leak and the cost of my 7970 card. I'm going back to air or H100i.

But i will like the most soundless system, so what do you thing i need to take.

spec is, 3930k and will like to oc it to 4.5 ish, rampage formula mobo and a 7950 msi card that is on the way home.

kind regards

At low fan speeds, the D14 still performs well, whilst the H100i suffers - plus you avoid the pump noise and any reliability issues in the future.

For a silent system, I do still think the D14 is the best way to go.

Thanks James, the next thing is then. How high can the ram be ? Right now i'm on the lovely Corsair memory, but have a buyer to them. So will like to get some good advise on the memory that can be there and also have some nice speed to them.

The Mushkin Ridgeback just fits under it and that's 46mm tall. Your Dominator Platinum is 50mm.

Can't say for certain whether they'd fit but since you're getting rid of them anyway that shouldn't really matter.

Pretty much anything really will fit under the D14 - with only a couple of exceptions...

Generally, just buy something of a decent brand that's cheap. You don't need to spend loads on a massive heatsink or anything like that for RAM.

Ive never had a noisy H100i and Ive had a lot. You can tune them to be nigh on silent and you dont have the worries of the massive heatsink getting in the way of everything.

If you have a window you want the Corsair.

I have the 600T white, so there is a window in the case.

I will try the H100i and get the NH-D14 as backup and can use it my server if the H100i work very well.

Nice to see you back TTL....

I would defo go with the H100i near silent performance and better looks... If your pump is a little noisy give it a day or two to settle down...

Thanks alot mates, have just order it home. Will be here some day next week. But then it is time to clean my PC and make TTL happy on my cables ;)

Welcome back Tom , how are you doing?

On topic:
I built my first system in December , and have had no issues with my H100i .
Still running strong and silent.
I personally like the looks of it compared to the NH-D14.
I got both when I bought my stuff , just in case I had any problems.
