Background:
So here we are, I finally ordered most of the parts for my new rig. It's actually the first one I'll build for myself although I've already done builds for family members and friends. I had an old pre-built PC from a grocery store and it was pretty decent for the time (2008, some upgrades), but died one me last summer and since then I had to use my ancient Dell Latitude D505 laptop (1.7GHz single-core Pentium M, 512MB 333MHz RAM, 80GB HDD).. It's horrible, not even lightweight linux distro's are running properly, but that may also come from my power-user habits
Long story short: Current hardware is way outdated, saved for a couple of months, and now ready for a new rig!

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k
RAM: 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133MHz/CL9-11-10-30@1.65V
MoBo: ASUS Z87 Sabertooth
GPU: * AMD R9 390X ?
SSD: ADATA SP920 256GB
HDD: WD Green 3TB
PSU: Corsair RM Series 650W
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro
Cooling: * ???
(*) = not ordered yet/still unsure
