NoL's Monster SS

Time to unleash it.

I have a 3/4-1hp rotary compressor and a large compressor being shipped. The plan? Monster bench single stage with a long flex (4-6 feet maybe?)

Parts:

115v Hero Rotary Compressor (3/4-1hp)

Large Condenser (11" x 10" x 2.25")

Comair Rotron 7" Type 113 Fan (I wonder how loud this can possible be!)

Wooden bench platform, maybe even a case?

Commercial Filter/Drier

CPEV if I can find one...

4-6' Flex line

R22/R290 (Maybe r410a?)

Suction line Accumulator ( :worship: )

Could it eventually become a dual evap? Who knows!

omfgwtfbbq!! That thing is going to be pure insanity!!! I can't wait to see some pictures of the parts once you get them in. How big is that darn compressor, I imagine it can't be all that small, rofl.

The compressors around a foot tall me thinks, therefore this single stage will be a bit over a foot tall. This will be quite insane, I'm deciding on a 54" flex, no CPEV, maybe a suction pressure control. I may build it without an SLHX or not, I'm not exactly sure yet.

Wow this needs a bumpage.

Projects a bit more on track guys!

I'm still waiting on finding a suitably large condenser,

but today I received 12 36" flex lines to braze up!

I'm planning on getting r507 now for this.

I realy oughta get back into the workshop but re-organzing is taking lots of time.

Heh lately I've been amassing parts and working on a project for a buyer on OCF.

To name some of my newest things...

12x 36" flex lines

12x Temprite 340 Oil Seperators

Filters, 50% silver alloy, other stuffs

Another 50' roll of 3/8" tube (I need some more 1/4")

And a few more compressors.

I think I'm going to need an oil seperator with this Monster simply to help with oil flow.

Well after looking around for CPEV's....

There $57 a peice so this will be a capillary setup.

Ah well, that's not all too bad :p We need pix and updates mang, I wanna see this beast!

Keep it cold! :rocker:

Okay I got my condenser and the lineset that I sent to Thrilla (which came back and I sent him another) will be the lineset. Only 36" but its temporary and the cap in cap evap on the end has an outer cap with 2" ID! This thing is monstrous. I gotta cut down the base plate a little bit since right now its about 3" square. :P

I may also have an aluminum base plate coming, woot...

Definetly, thats the plan. It's also going to be a bit mixed up on the ghettoy side. I generally dont use evaps this mammoth which will actually make it a little bit hard to mount it anywhere I think...

I see you might be using r22? Wouldn't you need a rather large vacume to get really low temps with it? Cause i think r410a would probably be best

I dont think I'm going to buy a can of r410a. Simply because of too high discharge even on a large system. r22 can still acheive quite good temperatures on a 3/4hp rotary! :)

I'm not 100% sure but I may convert this to an autocascade... Eventually, first just a SS.

Glad to finally see some updates on this... It's been a while since we've heard anything. When are you planning to have this beast complete? And what rig are you going to put under it?
