Hey guys so i bought a asus 290 not to long ago and i thought i wouldnt have a issue with the noise....... :D well after moving my pc into my lounge i do.

Ill be selling my old hd5970 heres my question?

do i get a block and cool the 290? (i had a water loop in my old system and would probably transplant it over)

or

get a 780 (possibly a 780ti iv i can scratch together the budget)

whats your thoughts cheers :)

Well done ;).

If you're not really wanting the hassle of getting a loop I'd look at either getting one of the AIO cooler mods (such as NZXT's Kraken, in stock in overclockers) or if you want air cooling, then either one of the artic cooler products or a Raijintek Morpheus.

Going under water would be the best option, especially if all you need is the block.
Otherwise i'd go with what Barnsley said, the new Raijintek Morpheus is supposed to be pretty good.

You need two fans for it, someone on the OCUK forums used one with two Corsair 120SP PWM fans and apparently his max load temp was 55*c.

You stick two 120mm fans of your choice on.

Yeah looks nice, i was looking at the cpu coolers recently aswell the ereboss i think but a few new ones have released aswell if i remember rightly.

Here's some temp and noise results from a Tom's hardware Germany review for the Raijintek Morpheus if you are interested.
