Noctua vs H100i

H100i - but the difference is minimal.

If you aren't bothered about the looks then the Noctua is a lot cheaper, so that's probably a better choice if you want to save money.

h100i is a bit better than the noctua, but is not noticeable unless running under a higher load, such as playing games on high or doing lots a video editing. If you don't mind paying a little more I would get the h100i just because it looks more attractive imo

better to do what?
swim, go bowling with, or holding a ladder?

c'mon, this debate as been flogged to the nth degree..

in stock forms the H100(i) has a better cooling delta than the NH-D14
in stock forms the H100(i) is a lot louder in sound than the NH-D14, by the time
you slow the fans down to NH-D14 sound, they are pretty much equal in temps.

currently the NH-D14 is less expensive than the H100(i) at new retail.

not all cases can accept the rad size or the cooler height.

warrenty wise, the NH-D14 has that sewn up for 6years as the H100(i) is 2years.
and if the H100(i) leaks, i think the liability is $150US, NH-D14 won't leak.

it will come down to looks, price and performance. they both look good, they
both perform and are similarly priced.
both have drawbacks and issues.

a better question is needed...

Another plus to the Noctua is longevity. Since you dont have to depend on the life of the pump, a D14 could last a whole lot longer than a H100.

Im glad I went with the H100 over the D14 cause I do really like the performance of it and on the lowest setting its easily quiet enough. And lifespan isnt that big a concern for me as I upgrade constantly and will be surprised if I keep this thing more than 3 years at most. Chances are Ill have moved on to some new toy by then. But if youre one that keeps your stuff a long time then the D14 might be worth getting.

if i can keep a H100 in my rigs longer than 3months would be a miricle. i keep sellingthem from
my PC. friends see it and i sell it..
and as a fall-back, the trusty D14 (SE2011) always gets put back in.

Essentially this. Both are pretty much perform the same within margin of error and both have advantages and disadvantages. It really boils down to your needs and personal taste.

I went H100 because I don't like the look of big coolers and the worry of will my ram fit etc. But then there are others who like the metallic look of the cooler and the fact it is virtually never gonna fail so no risk involved.

The pump failed in my H100i. I'm now back using a D14 and the temps are a few .c worse but the noctua is considerably quieter under load.

I never back on AIR cooler after all in one, I don't want to scratch mine fingers when need to clean graphic or remove cables or motherboard, and mentally prepare whole days when need to change paste with 2 hours of working and removing all cables, motherboard, disconnect SATA cables, and everything else...no
CORSAIR H100 is not loud at on balanced speed and can cool hottest CPU's today with 2 fans on balanced. But can you imagine H100 with 4x GT AP-00 2150RPM, silence, only hum of AIR but cooling perfect or 4x SP120 on 2000RPM, all AIR out of case, whole case cold, side panels cold like window, perfect...

First we must see what offer. Maybe that is revolution.
I expect CPU(3770K) 4.5GHz + GTX680 (example 4GB Classified) OC and some good temps. We will see. Look very powerful and promising.
Only 240mm radiator is maybe problem but if that show up as something good that is nothing better for people to fast put CPU and HC graphic under loop. For 5 mins.

Hey, how's it going. This is my first post, but I wanted to clear this up: the warranty on the H100i is actually five years. I know I'd be wanting the latest and greatest before five-year warranty is up. Maybe that's just me, but it's a hefty warranty either way.

I've actually had some experience of returning a Corsair product with the H100. I was unlucky enough to get one from a particularly dodgy batch, but they were good enough to send me the newer version as a replacement.

I agree. Looks, performance, and cost are the main factors. However, I don't agree that they're similarly priced: the H100i will run you about £90, whereas the NH-D14 will only set you back about £55; a not inconsiderable 40% saving.

Unless your budget is particularly tight - and I accept some people's are - then it comes down to looks, as they both have the performance to deal with what most of us will throw at them. Let's face it, the NH-D14 is a hideous beast. It's huge and it's ugly. The H100i, from my perspective at least, is way more stylish, and tweakable.

The H100 was fairly loud, but the H100i does a significantly better job, especially if you pick up the SP120 QE. So really it comes down to which of these you want in your case:
