Noctua has showcased a Skylake-EP LGA 3647 compatible CPU cooler, confirming that Intel will be moving to a new socket for their server products.

As far as I see it 3647 will be the next server xeon socket. The Information from Noctua says skylake-ep not -e. Probably ep for enterprise. If skylake-e will use the same socket is pure speculation, but my guess is it won't.
