Noctua NH-D14 Passive Performance

Cheers for the upload and video make, great to see.

Is it just me or are your temps jumping around massively at the beginning of the video?

Seems to me, from 35'c to 45'c and back down within short succession.

Thanks!

The system had been running for about a day before I recorded the video and there were lots of things running at the time, so that may have been a factor. Also, I do find that the readings in HWMonitor can be a bit sporadic, at least with my CPU and setup.

I know what you mean by "I do find that the readings in HWMonitor can be a bit sporadic''.

However I've found for my system HWMonitor to work great, and show actual temps. I've never experienced such high jumps as shown in your video though, but there again every system is different.

For a long time I was messing around with allot of different temp software, and found HWMonitor to be the most reliable for me.

Great setup though mate, let me know if you post any other new vids! :)

yes, i like hwmonitor too and i'm not sure about the massive jumps to be honest, it may just be something to do with how hwmonitor is taking the readings. there is an issue with some msi motherboards (including mine) where the 12v reading is wrong in hwmonior, but correct in all other applications and in the bios, so it seems like hwmonitor may be taking readings a bit differently than some other software does.

thank you! i have quite a few videos made and ready to upload, as well as ideas for more. i'm just trying to pace the uploads a bit. i will post them on my build log as i make them and maybe some of them in the user reviews section if they fit there. you can always find videos on my channel if you like , the link is in my signature :)

U think it would drop a few degrees without the fans mounted, allowing a bit more air from the casefans to move freely over the heatsink?

The Noctua fans are almost/if not inaudible so I don't why there's much point in running it passive? Unless it was just an experiment.

I think there have been several threads on running the beast passively.
