Noctua Cooling Competition

Right. It's time to end the big black hole when it comes to the NH14 and AMD.

I'm going to take off the 12CP after recording the temps, remove the ram that hasn't been snapped down and get this bugger in so I can know once and for all how this beast will cool a P2.

Wish me luck, and if I'm not back by 5pm send out a search party.

Just getting my tuppence worth in, prior to this I was getting temps of 50 - 53 on my stock cooler with rubbish paste see pics in earlier post.

That was due to me knowing I was not gonna be OC'ing.

With this cooler I am getting 21 - atm and will report back in when I have OC'd a bit.

temps are no good if you dont post room temps as well. It could be -50 in your home and you getting +21 on the cpu.

I have my t-shirt and my fingers and lips are not blue, thermostat downstairs is set for 21 throughout the house. No - 50 here

On opening and looking and feeling the product, I can't believe how good quality it really is. I've missed using Noctua coolers since my last one. They really are second to none when it comes to build, as you can see above.

I was trying out some small lighting for the photos at the same time as photographing something else, so I thought I'd put the NH-U12P up there and it looks great.

I got a Corsair H50 for a very good price quite a while ago now, so I'm not sure which one to stick with. I'll have to test both, though the H50 is more practical (as I move the PC a lot in the car) but the Noctua is so much nicer in general. Probably quieter too.

Once it's in I'll put up some installation pics for y'all.

Thanks again to OC3D and Noctua for this competition.

Me neither. When I've got some time to take the rig apart (very busy at uni atm) at Christmas I'll post up some performance figures.
