Noctua Cooling Competition

Dude I was actually writing a song I was going to sing too.

It was titled "Puff ! the magic Phenom" and the first few lines went like this...

Puff the magic Phenom, wouldn't overclock.

It just kept overheating because the cooler on it was stock !

Then one magic day, Noctua came to town, and stopped the mighty Phenom from burning & turning brown.
 
To think we were probably minutes away from that treat, blimey. I say do it anyway and you can get free OC3D internet cookies/nothing!

BOOM i can not beleve i have actualy wont something AND it was 2nd prize,will start taking my top off and boshing around to rock more often i might make a living out of it lol

LOL I love boobies dude, but after a conflab with Noctua today thats the way it came out. We pretty much had the same choices too.

I think all the winners were very worthy, and sadly we didnt have enough prizes to give to everyone.

Not much point mate tbh. 940 has the Corsair on with dual fans and dual shrouds. It's so cool it's a joke, and I really don't want to pull that machine apart again.

It'll go in the other one on the 9950

plus it'll clear the ram in there.

I've just noticed too that in the second machine the PSU is now making a whistling sound. It doesn't rain it bloody pours

It might be out of comission for a while whilst I save for another PSU (and I may aswell go kilowatt so I can do this quadfire thing) So it'll need to come apart. I'll whack it in then

It actually overclocks very well. Was so darn easy getting it to 3ghz. 127w TDP which is awesome and 33 idle with 62 load. I did notice a nice burning smell though, think it was the capacitors wearing in lol.

Id just use the Noctua on the machine you use the most. As once the fan speed adapters are on its silent

TBH Tom I use them equally mate.

The Silverstone I use all day, but noise in the day doesn't bother me. Thankfully the fans in it are amazingly quiet. The Alienware? gawd. It's full of yate loons and a 3870x2 revving away. That's the rig I use for bed, so the quieter the better tbh.

Oddly that one has a 92mm Noctua in the HDD bay, and I cannot friggin wait to get rid of the NH92 out of there. It's running a Yate and a Scythe, neither are quiet being massive RPM fans.

Sleep is what I need. I'm tired of waking up for a wee and then it whirring away so loudly I can't get back to sleep.
