I hate Nintendo and the special little bubble they have that protects them from criticism because 'muh nostalgia'. They only ever put out new IPs when they mess something up and milk existing IPs harder than EA. They've had too many 'get out of jail free cards' IMO.

They've got some nice games for the WiiU but its still goofy AF. I got it cheap so I can't complain too much.

I am just sorry to see such a old maker as Nintendo do so bad now days in the gaming industry. I was a young boy when the nintendo came out and was a big fan for long. I hope the new console gives PS4 and xbone a run for their money..

I don't think the Wii did bad at all. In fact, I thought it kicked some serious arse in the console arena when it first came out. Every fat parent in the world who had fat kids bought one of those. :D

The Wii did do quite well. The Wii U on the other hand had a very slow start. It only recently took off with MK8 and Smash Bros.

"people are very happy with what we've done on Wii U" That's BS! If that were true they would not need to release new hardware.

To be honest I think the Wii U is a great product that was marketed very badly. When it came out most people didn't even know about it and it had no good games.

The Screen on the controller is great for when somebody else needs to use the living room tv, lets say a dad want to watch football when his children is playing Mario Kart of something, even works with older wii games as it can be used as a screen for old Wii remotes.

The only thing the Wii U does not have atm is 3rd party games, which for me as a PC user isn't important. The PS4 and Xbox One are not of interest to me, I'd want to play the Halo collection if it worked and the only thing on PS4 I'd want to play is The last of US and I owned that last gen. The Wii U has a lot of great games, the new Mario Kart and Smash Brothers are fantastic and I really want to buy Beyonetta 2.

The only thing really holding Nintendo back ATM is a different hardware spec than everyone else which makes it very hard to get 3rd parties interested when combined with their poor sales, too much work for a relatively small number of users.

I think it is generally a bad product. Marketing aside it is terrible. Not only is it the poorest performing gaming platform hardware wise by a long shot it is also using an architecture that last generation developers displayed their dismay over (PowerVR). So not only is it a poor performer it is using a poor architecture and is the ONLY one to have both those flaws. With PS4, One, and PC using significantly more powerful hardware on x86 what motivation do devs have working on it? It doesn't offer anything new to the table just hold backs.

Nintendo needs to quit trying to go cheap, with the end result being lousy, sub-par consoles. They need to sink some cash into some R&D that will stomp the crap out of MS and Sony. Kids dont buy consoles, their parents do. Maybe if Nintendo came up with some good, non-kiddie style games their sales wouldnt suck so bad. Parents might not buy the conelse just for the kids, they might buy them because they have an interest in playing too. Another iteration of Mario Cart will only take Nintendo so far. As a parent I would find Need for Speed: Blood and Guts to be far more appealing.

Who really cares if Nintendo has exclusive games if they all suck ass? Coincidentally, I was having a conversation with a mate about this very subject just the other day. We wer both hoping Nintendo would get off their cheap asses and really do something to kill MS and Sony for a change.

If they dont put a solid effort into their next console, they might as well not even bother with a next console, and should probably close their doors.

I have been a big Nintendo fan since I was a little boy and I was blown away when the Nintendo came out - we even had to Pre order it back then.

Even so - I am very dissapointed that nintendo is all ways last on the hardware horse - yes, they have some good games but it all ways a generation behind all the others. Cant we get a Nintendo console that is BETTER than the ps4 or xbone? Nintendo have the others to see WHAT they could better at that price range.

Then they would as allways shell out their exclusive titles (all refresh) AND be on todays level. I just feel its crap that to play a cool game with a few buddies at a party then I need to look at 5 years grahics etc etc even from *todays* nintendo console.

Back in the day Nintendo was the hardware king going up to the Gamecube. After they have just relied on gimmicks to sell.

Your opinion is wrong then. Consoles are far from dying off. In fact more and more PC manufacturers are making PCs more console like.

For a start you can do a hell of a lot more on a pc than you can do with a console another thing the FPS on console are lock to 30 FPS cause of bullshit reasons bye game devs and when they port a game from console to pc its crap.

The average person doesn't care about that. They just want something that works. Also PC gaming is still very much a 'nerd' thing to do in most people's eyes.

Anyway, I very much doubt Nintendo want to stick it to Sony/Microsoft. Their target audience, for the most part, don't care about graphics and things like that. Why put the effort in when you can rely on Nostalgia to sell everything?
