Hi guys,
I've been looking into building and modding my own personal rig for many years now, but never really thought i had the skills to do it any justice, but as I've gotten older I'm finding myself with more drive to "just get in there and do it!" to make a kick ass custom rig.
so some quick points to help you guys potentially understand and help you know what some of my guidelines are:
1. What I'm willing to spend on my rig?
money is no object (technically)
I say money is no object as I see this as a long term project and will be putting aside money to save for each component that I have on my current list. (I know parts do change but i will be re-checking the performance and cost effectiveness at each stage of the build as i come to it). And I do want to "future proof" it as much as you can a computer with the forever updating components out there.
2. What I am going to using it for?
I'll be using this rig for basically everything gaming, video rendering, general work, and surfing the web. I am under the assumption that the most hard labor tasks that I will be putting on this rig will be the video rendering and gaming as i would like to get into streaming some PC game play for my friends (lol and no i'm not looking to try and get into the internet gaming scene like most peeps these days with lots of gaming content just here and there is fine with me).
And how I love to game but I'm a little fed up playing on low to average setting so I'm wanting this system to be a beast of a gaming system. (or HULK of a system as as I'll explain later).
3. Some ideas for the direction I'm looking to go with this build.
The theme of the build will be The Hulk all big mean and green (well black, green, with maybe some purple and some white to highlight the other colours and components), I will be modifying the back panel to make it look like the hulks fist is ripping through the machine, name cut out or painted onto it and a few little mods inside like re-sleeving cables and other stuff to still be decided on or suggested my you guys as I'll will be hopefully going to be making a photo gallery of this build to share with everyone involved.
The only component I've all ready purchased is a NZXT Phantom 630 in matte black with a window in the front panel, other components i have made a list of are:
MB: Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5 (i like the green and black colour)
CPU: Intel I7 4770K
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X60 280mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
Memory: Kingston HyperX Beast KHX24C11T3K2/16X 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked 3GB
Storage: , Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003
PSU: Corsair AX860i Platinum Power Supply
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64bit with SP1 OEM
OD: ASUS SBW-06D2X-U External Blu-ray Writer
Fans: NZXT FZ 200mm Green LED Fan, NZXT FZ 140mm Green LED Fan
KB: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder 2013 Gaming Mouse
(I might use purple LEDs/Fans for different colour effect).
Thanks guys for reading through all my jibber jabber and potential help on my rig look forward to hearing all your thoughts and opinions.
