The tune will probably be complete in a couple of days, but unfortunately I can't really hand it out to everyone

It will be a couple of months at least until the tune gets released (probably more like 6 months) and before then the promo copies can only be handed out by the label.

afaik it costs ALOT to keep a copyright or anything like that after a certain amount of time, i expect they just let it run out as most artists do

copyrights yea but its not copyrights that apply to intellectual content, its some other thing that lasts far less, unless they filed for a specific patent on that riff
