Here is my current rig. Upgraded to the Storm Scout II from my Sharkoon Tauron (which is now property of Solaris570)

Components are:
CM Storm Scout II (obviously)
Asus Crosshair V Formula
AMD FX-8320 8 Core
Asus Direct CUII 7950
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 8gb (2x4gb) 1600Mhz
Corsair H80
Corsair HX650
Kingston 128gb V100+ SSD
Samsung 1tb HDD
Samsung 320gb HDD

Also bought some custom cables to try and keep the case tidy, although I am missing one of the cable management grommets :(

Nearly two months on and all is looking well.
Have oc'd the CPU to 4.1ghz and the GPU to 1ghz Core with a 1.4ghz memory. Next step for me is to get a H100i.

Looks stunning. Amazing job on that cable management, exactly what I like to see.

Seem to be a lot of exhaust though and not much intake. I'd add a fan to the bottom.

Looking good but i do not think an h100i will fit in the top there.

Edit: about the intake and exhaust.. could just move your lower front fan to the bottom for better airflow to the gpu instead of adding another fan.

Keep meaning to turn the H80 fans around lol just going to wait until i upgrade the cooler. Also thinking of going for 16gb Patriot Viper 3 in red to match the build.

Let the H100i exhaust rather than bring warm air in. I have 2 120mm on the front, 1 on the bottom, my h100i fans run at 5v and my rear exhaust fan runs at 5v, you could even flip the rear exhaust around when you get your h100i unless you don't like the look of that.

Ummm.... this makes no sense.

First you want an h100i, which is cpu cooler, then you want a new case AND a Kraken X60, which if my memory serves me correctly is also a cpu cooler...

Either you are running dual processors, I am wrong, or you are simply changing your mind on the cooler. But then, why the new case if you are simply changing your mind?

Maybe you can mount the Rad inside and the 2 fans under that top panel? or rad external and 2 fans inside like now?

I wanted a H100i but it won't fit in my current case. Was looking at the Bitfenix Ghost case as a replacement and the Kraken X60 fits in that case. No dual cpu setup, just weighing my options up on coolers. For the price of a 240mm A.I.O i can get a 280mm A.I.O cooler.

Plus a sound dampened case would be ideal lol

Dude. It fits.

Mount rad outside. Fans inside.
or
Mount rad inside and fans outside pulling.

I recommend the 2nd.

Edit: Your case is fine, get the h100i and you can run the fans with the 7v reducers and that will be plenty cooling and very quiet. I have a haswell chip overclocked to 4.6GHz and have the fans on 5v, it never gets hot, 65c which is cool for the CPU :)

I recommend having a pause and thinking for a bit.

Things to ponder. ..

  • Do I really need a new case?
  • What do I need from a new case NOW?
  • What am I likely to need in the new case in the future?
  • What am I likely to do with my pc next?

If you decide that you do need a new case, I would urge you to very seriously think about what comes next, because if you don't, the chances are very good that you will be looking for another replacement case in a few months.

As TTL has said many times, "do some serious thinking and some research, then pick your parts once. Do it right first time and you'll save yourself money and time in the long run. "

Now I don't know you, to you, the cost of a new case every couple of months may be trivial. But to me, I'd rather not build them rebuild into a new case every few months.... I've been bitten for not thinking ahead properly and I'm paying for it now. Don't make my mistake.

For the record: my mistake was in purchasing a case to fit a h100i, and not considering my liklihood of getting into custom loops in the future, even though I knew I was going to. I purchased a Thermal Take Overseer rx-1. It's a good case, but not suited for what I need now.

Only reason I am looking for a new case is due to the side panel letting dust in. Plus a silent case would be a little better. Already know what i want to do, going to give my old case and H80 to my little brother for his build as well as the 8gb ram. I need a ram upgrade and the I would like the option of quieter cpu cooling.
I don't upgrade every few months, if i could afford to I would like most of us here.
I'd like to do a custom water loop again but won't be doing anything like that for a while, especially on a 7950.

Lol most of us here upgrade every other generation of products:p
Dicehunter on the other hand.. well he's lucky:p

7950 watercooled would be worth it.. rare to find a block for it though.

i would add some dust filters to the side panel would be much cheaper than a new case or just turn your h80 fans around to pull air in from the back then i will be take out the top this will lower temps(maybe not by much) pulling cold air from outside but more importantly will lower dust intake by increase pressure inside the case.
