New site design nearly ready

That's right, the "New look" OC3D is almost there.

We're just waiting on some banners and a few additions before it all goes live!

Exciting stuff

If all our members wouldn't mind giving it a thorough testing then we would appreciate it. The pics aren't live as of yet, so bear that in mind, but all else is ready to go pretty much

BIG big big props to XMS who has been frantically coding on notepad for the last two weeks or so to produce this gorgeous new look. :worship: :worship:

Fantastic Kemp. I really like the new look, and the news + reviews integration, gives a more informative and equal balance. Can't wait till it goes live.

JUST FYI, the About link on the new layout doesn't work. Not a big deal really, but just making sure you knew.

That page looks sweet, huge improvement over the current. Everything seems to be working on it too (Except the "About Us" page)

Lookin' great!! I love the new layout, it's much more modern looking than the current scheme. Good work boys!

looks amazing. Will you make it so it takes up my whole screen for widescreen or keep it the way it is?

Nah it's staying fixed width as its almost impossible to make this kind of design expand for diff screen resolutions.

The one good thing about fixed width is that reviews will look the same on everyone's screens no matter how big/small.

Amazing new design.

Everything seems perfect but I think the main site links on the left of the page should be made to stand out a little bit more.

Well done to XMS for continuing to improve OC3D and I am sure we are going to get much bigger :worship:

Ooo nice i like. Are the forums gonna get a face lift too later on?

definately a minor one, not sure about a major one yet though

im glad you are all enjoying the new site, when we all first saw the design we were blown away aswell!

Jim .. VNice VV Nice melikes

on a side more geeky note Kempererererererermererperz mentioned Notepad (i dont doubt it was what u were using)

ever try Notepadd ++ for coding its syntax rendering/highlighting and its tabbed saves me loadsa time when messing with php/css/c++/java/whatever

Oooh I'll have to give that a go. I was looking for one that could reliably highlight syntact. All the ones i've tried so far choke on some of the more fancy php ways of doing things and then don't highlight the rest of the doc.

Yeah they will. It won't be as major and I almost certainly won't be going with a fixed width design tho :)
