New rig

Building a new rig for my girlfriend. Components chosen so far:

Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard
AMD FX-8350 CPU
Fractal Define R3 case in white
Radeon 5970

Not really sure what's new with the R2.0 motherboard, but since it's only a 5 quid difference, might just buy this. The case is really nice and not expensive, but might need some modding to fit the 5970 which I already got for 170 quid. Not sure about storage yet, but for the time being, I will take out a 1TB Samsung drive from my rig, but will buy a 128GB OCZ Vertex 4 and something like a 1TB WD Black in the near future. I also need a PSU that could handle a second 5970 if I ever decided to crossfire.

If you are going to upgrade both mobo and cpu i have to wonder why you're sticking with AMD. The power draw they have is rediculous. The heat is rediculous. The performance - not worth the electricity bills every month. Go intel.

Samsung or crucial SSD. 1866mhz or 2133mhz ram. Corsair AX650 psu. Consider upgrading the GPU. You might have a hard time finding another 5950.

First off, it's not an upgrade, it's a new rig. It's a budget gaming PC, all AMD because my girlfriend simply likes AMD and both me and her had only bad experience with Intel in the past. Heat is not an issue, my electricity bill isn't high as well, so non of those will be a problem.

OCZ SSD because it's a budget build, I have one in my rig and I'm very pleased with it. Why did you mention a 5950? I have a 5970, the dual GPU one and finding another one is not a problem. It's a 300W graphics card, so a 650W PSU is not nearly enough to run two of these.

Thanks for the suggestions though.
