New rig what you guys think?

Hi

So im new to these forums but ive skulked in the backgrounds reading articles and browsing the forums every now and then and might as well give a bit of quick background info first my existing rig is a; i7 920 (non-D0 bought it when it first came out), UD5mobo, 12gb 1600mhz of ram and a gtx 260. I plan on giving this rig to my younger brother after i get his a new gpu so he can stop gaming on my pc lol which means im in need for a new rig.

This rig will be primarily used for gaming really and general PC use il be running 2 24" and a tv off it i had a rough build in my mind but dont know if thats what i want yet because im thinking if haswell and gtx700/hd8000 are around the corner i would rather wait and pull the trigger as soon as they come out.

However i know that people always say theres no point waiting for new tech as its always something around the corner but i would buy it pretty much as soon as it came out to ensure maximum life my biggest concern is how long it takes for a good mobo to come out, my budget isnt defined more il just get what i want and let my bank accounts suffer lol any ways back to the current rig thinking;

CASE: cosmos 2 or 600t white (i sit around hoping CM will come out with a white cosmos 2 with a window that would be my perfect case!!)
MOBO: asus z77 sabertooth
CPU: i7 3770k
GPU: HD7950 maybe 2
Cooler: either full water cooling or h100 not sure yet
RAM: not sure was thinking corsair white vengeance
PSU: AX750

anyways what do you guys think ive been a bit distant from the old pc component rumor mill what is haswell/hd8000 saying worth the few months wait
 
Buy now...

600t in white - cosmos 2 is too big IMO
Drop to a 3570k instead of the 3770k as there's no difference between the two in gaming
And go with GTX 670s over 7950s.

Haswell won't be around till mid next year, so too long to wait IMO
 
If you choose a H100 and put it in a Cosmos 2 I will laugh at you. Apart from that, it will be a nice rig... I'd go with the 7970 1GHz edition though.

Seconded. :)

The Cosmos 2 is a behemoth, and would look ridiculous with air cooling or an H100. If you decide to watercool though, that's a different story.

And yeah, 7950 or 7970 would be my choice as well, especially if you're running high-res monitors.

Not sure about prices where you are, but here in Canada those two aren't in the same price range. The 660ti is around the same price as the 7950 here.
 
Lol if i put the h100 i would probably slap myself my plan was always 600t=h100 and cosmos2=full wc loop and maybe il get the GTX 670 instead

Does anyone know anyone who can mod a case professionally?? i would want a quote on how much to mod a cosmos 2 and then would probably make the decision then on which route to take?
 
Hey guys small update im starting to lean heavily towards buying a cosmos 2 and modding it =D

Anyone on here ever messed around on their pcs and come up what a cosmos 2 might look like white?? if you have post it on here if you dont mind =D
