Hi, with news of a possible october launch for Sandy Bridge-E Source i have started to compile a quote looking to spend about 2500€, i have my eye on the i7-3930k which according to varous sources will be priced around 560 US dollars which equates to just under 400€.

Here is my list so far:

Chassis: Corsair Obsidian 800D

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB

Nvidia 3d Vision Kit

PSU: Corsair TX850

PSU: Corsair TX950

Monitor: LG W2363D

GTX 590 Hydro Copper

SSD: Unspecified

Motherboard and cpu will be added as they are released

Quoted With 850W 1952.04 1890.91

Quoted With 950W 1969.65 1919.84

So my questions are...

1: I have 2 PSU's in there, i currently have a 750W Antec Truepower PSU, If this won't do for this build then which one do you think out of the TX850 and TX950?

2: I have become a bit dissilusioned with SSDs after reading up on so many giving BSOD and or locking up, especially ones with sandforce controllers, could somebody clear this up for me and or recommend a good reliable SATA III, minimum 80GB and maximum 120GB

3: I am quite sold on getting the GTX 590 with a look to go quad sli late next year, also sold on cpu and tower. Apart from that tho, is there any reccomendations on how to shave a few euros off the total price, i know the first thing people may notice is the ram is over kill but please bear in mind i'm looking for quad channel RAM

Thank you for your time

this is why im posting here, main concern is the power supply. as i said in op: 1: I have 2 PSU's in there, i currently have a 750W Antec Truepower PSU, If this won't do for this build then which one do you think out of the TX850 and TX950?

also not too long before they start shipping, october is only 2 month away. Anyways, any thought as to op would be appreciated

Personally I would wait till everything is out before you decide. PSU though i'd grab a AX1000 and GPU wise quad SLI is pointless games scale badly a good two card set up is better than three or 4 plus AMD 7xxx series is due out Q4 and Nvidia 6xxx series cards are due out Q1 2012 so i'd at least wait for the AMD 7xxx series and see what the 7950, 7970 are like.

yeah i'd love an ax1200 but as i said in op i'd like to try and shave a few euros off my quote, my main question stands about whether my antec truepower 750W will be enough? and could somebody read thu op and answer on parts that havent already been thanks everybody

750w would be enough for a single 590 probably, but if you wanted to overclock or go SLI it wouldn't. Having lived with quad crossfire, I can tell you, quad sli setups look great on paper, but in practice, there are no games that benefit from the extra horsepower, and the cards will probably be slower than a pair of 580s. Sure if you need the 1337 3d mark score, but otherwise go for a single 590 or two 580s.

The 800D probably isn't the best watercooling case out there, particularly if you are planning to watercool the CPU as well. Perhaps consider the TJ0.

thanks for your reply, i wont be overclocking so i'll make do with my antec truepower, i will upgrade this early for 1h next year. Could somebody also comment on my concerns about ssds as posted in op

thanks again everybody
