Im getting a new PSU so im ready for the new Nvidia 9 Series as they will prbs have 8 Pin connectors, Im looking at this power supply 850w silverstone. Are silverstone anygood for PSUs? I know silverstone do brilliant cases but what are there PSUs like? :) Thanks

They are pretty decent units but the modular connectors can be a bit iffy I've found. How about the Coolermaster Real Power?

Ill have a look into them, Are they better than Silverstone or do they measure up about the same. I defonatly want one with a Single 12 Volt rail correct? There better than a dual 12v Rail

If you're after single rail then you're pretty much gonna have to go with the Silverstone. Are you restricted to buying from Scan? If not the the PCP&C Silencer is a nice unit too (but not modular).

In all honesty the Silverstone will do you fine. Just don't make a habit of removing the modular connectors as they can get quite loose over time.

What actualy is prefered more or less 12v rails i know that 1 Rail is prefered if you have multipul GPUs but what difference does it realy make because the coolermaster 850w one has 6 12v Rails!! Coolermaster or Silverstone??? I know either would do me just fine but i cant risk in the end going oh i should of got the other one lol. Thanks :)

First of all im sure that the 9 series will be using the lastest 8pin PCI-E power cables that my PSU doesnt have and im giving my other PSU to my GF, (Building her a comp). :)

Not Modular :( Need one thats modular because i want eveything to be nice and neat and also there are unused cables at the back of my radiator this could be requcing air flow. Thanks anyway it seems a very good PSU.

No ones answered my question :( MORE or LESS 12v Rails best?

If you want modualr then go with the silverstone. Ive got teh 750w version and its pretty good.

Jims covered all the +s and -s of it though.

As for multi rails. Afaik theres no conclusive evidence for which is better. If either would actually be better.

More if you are safety concious, less if your going to be putting more than ~20a load on a single rail.

I heard by some companies more rails mean less stability and more failure prone but others just say it's a myth, I probably wouldnt be too bothered since I've heard no proof of anything
