New Posts not working

I thought it was cos I was in a different timezone that NewPosts wasn`t working for me, but I`m at home now and it`s still not working.

I`ve made a thread (new obviously) and it doesn`t appear. If I goto TodaysPosts in quicklinks, it`ll be there - although I get the 10 second search delay thing even tho I haven`t previously done a search thingy (including search-related links like Todays/New).

Some other people`s New Posts are being recognized as new tho.

Is it just me borked ? Have I gotta do something ? I`ve tried clearing the 50 million Unread threads, but it doesn`t work (as it didn`t when I was away).

EDIT: I just checked, this thread isn`t in the New Posts for me either and for some reason there is a line running down my edit window. (that also happened on the pc I used whilst away)

EDIT2: Seems that if some1 replies to my New Threads, it appears in the New Posts list, until I read it, then it`s gone. So I assume that cos I made the thread, it`s not `New` to me.

Since the upgrade "New Threads" works a bit differently:

1. It will not show you new threads that you have created unless someone has replied to them. It assumes you knew what you was writing when you pressed submit so you wouldn't want to read it again.

2. It will not show you threads that you have already read. However, if you read a thread but don't read to the very last page, it should put it in a separate section "these thread have not been updated since your last visit by may still contain...blah"

3. It remembers what threads you haven't read.....for ETERNITY...or until you hit the [Clear] link.

10 second search thing is annoying i know, but the New Posts/Threads functions call the search script directly so it counts as a search

Ah ic, just something to get used to on the NewPosts side of things.

Thinking about the TodaysPosts thing - it tells me 10s no matter what I was doing b4 I clicked on it. I could go make some tea, come back and I got 10s to w8.

Ah, well that sounds like something is screwed up then. I'll check that bit out.
