New portable gaming pc or gaming laptop

My pc is on its last legs and so I’m going to get a replacement however I’m going to university in a year so I’m not sure if it’s worth bothering with another desktop. My budget is around a grand.

If I get a laptop it will be the gigabyte P35G v2


If I go with a portable desktop it will be based around the BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX.

Salvaging what you can from your first comp will help keep costs down. I finished building my new comp and saved some money by re-using the SSD and HDD.

I am at uni right now. I just have normal sized atx rig but do i have a car to transport it a lot. The problem is that you will need both a rig and laptop i would say as you need to take a laptop into uni sometimes to seminars and the library to do work. There are some good mini-atx cases but it may be better to look at some micro atx as you could better cooling as that it was it i am doing, but each to there own.

tbh I'd just get a laptop for uni. Its less hassle.
