New PhysX from ELSA

Price we pay for sheet in the Uk is pretty outrageous. Is europe just as bad ?

I dunno, I payed less than £60 for my bfg, but that was cos I got it whilst in the states. If I had to buy in the UK, I`d certainly thought 2ce about it.

It`s not a highly required piece of kit, but it`s `nice` to have and these people, especially Aegia, should be looking to get more and more of them in the homes. I can`t personally see the expense, cept that it`s `specialist` in it`s build. Components aren`t an issue, and if these people can produce one cheaply, the licensing can`t be that bad. Base it on sales or something.

Before u know it, the likes of AMD/ATI will look to incorporate them into their gfxcards.

Need pcie too, pci slots are getting fewer on newer boards.

Price down = good.

They bring this to the market at this price asnd PhysX might just take off

QFT!

From the very start I have sorta liked the idea.. until I saw the price.

At that price I can finally see some chip being sold. :)

Id consider it if it wasnt rubbish. I wouldnt mind if somebody gave me one possibly. But i was given an X-FI and sold it lol.

Depends how theya re going 2 use it. If it can be used on the games instead of ageia cards like UT3 and others then it amy be worth it for a nice boost in some image quality.

Im still waiting for them 2 make it just help out generally...

ageia may be a attempting to increase its user base with price reductions to help promote its next gen card?

google 'Ageia Tests Next-Generation PhysX Accelerators' and see what happens:yumyum:

Well I bought an ELSA Phynite100 a while ago and it was for close to 30000JPY. The ELSA Phynite100 is not a new card, it is one of the first PhysX card released on the market.

The ad displayed here is for a limited number of cards available at the shop... I suppose the card is not selling and they try to get rid of them very cheap.

If I have time I will try to go in Akihabara and check other shops to see if it is a general price drop from ELSA or if it is as I suppose just a specific sale like there is a lot in electronic shops here.

And just FYI, the Phynite100 is compatible with all PhysX games on the market no restriction.

It works great in UT3 with the PhysX package frm Aegia.
