Excellent Nvidia strategy. Gimp the card and force users to buy older stock before releasing more current gen cards to consumers.

I mean it's BS but can't blame Jensen for his ingenuity on raking in every dollar.

I thought I was being paranoid but it's awfully fishy isn't it? how to shift the crappiest most unsold card.....

Maybe games that use 32 bit can be updated to use 64 bit but in all likelihood these games will have been completely abandoned by their devs.

Makes you wonder what other features, maybe even some current RT ones, will become unusable on the latest technology in the future.

Planned obsolescence, If Nvidia could they'd cut capabilities of all older cards so you need to buy newer cards, They only don't as they'd face such a class action lawsuit it would put a dent into gremlin Jensen's wallet.

It's kinda the other way around now. Nvidia have stopped supporting older technologies on newer hardware that they once insisted upon and are an integral part of older games like Borderlands 2. It's like divorcing your wife because she isn't as pretty any more. You just don't do it.

Why a 3050? Shouldn't something old and cheap like a GT 730 work just as well? You're just offloading PhysX to it.

Sure, but we may be able to add it to other games now, too. Think PhysX in the original DOOM and, of course, Skyrim.
