New OC Enthusiast from the UK

Hey, just joined after here was recommended as a good way to get a bit more involved in the community.

I'm a 22 year old enthusiast about all things PC, especially overclocking and modding! My love of PCs goes hand in hand with my day job of video production.

I'm currently in the progress of building a new personal rig with a full custom loop, so thought i'd share my build logs, benchmarks and OC profiles in here
Upgrading from my current x79 platform, (Xeon e5 1650 @4.6) to a shiny new x299 setup, with which ever CPU my budget manages to stretch too!

Here's how she's looking at the moment, plenty of changes still to happen though!


Well I guess that's my introduction done, hopefully i'll get on well here and have some updates on my rig progress in the next few days.

That they do, I know quite a few and they are dedicated with borderline obsessive gaming addictions :lol:

2 of my closest friends are girls with RIGs that are so drool worthy it's unbelievable.

You should wait until my rig is finished
I'm a terrible perfectionist, so it'l probably be quite a while until I can finally call it finished though!

Being an enthusiast means our RIGs are never finished :lol: we get close to perfection then the manu's release something new and shiny.

I don't even get close to finished as I am often swapping stuff around in my PCs, that's why mine always look worse than everyone elses.

Always the case eh? That's why i'm hanging on to my SLI 970s until GPU pricing calms down a bit and the next gen of geforce drops

You are looking for a 1200 Watt PSU in another thread.

Two GTX 970s and a CPU don't need that much power.

Having said that overkill on the PSU means the cooling fan does not have to work that hard.

Or use an AXi and the fan never needs to spin, mine doesn't.

True. I really want that high effeciency and upgrade headroom though. Besides, I can't find a HX1000 in stock anywhere either and it's only a £30 difference.

I particularly want a HX or AX though as I already have a set of custom sleeved cables

Well I'll be damned then ^_^ You're the first girl I "meet" that are an PC enthusiast. Where I'm from, that is extremely rare. Even if a girl is simply into gaming is like a massive thing here, even less into computers :lol:

Edit: How much is "young" in your definition? As you could be old and therefore whatever age she is, is "young" :lol:
