Less power, less heat and same performance seems like a win win.

So finally maybe DDR3 can put out the same timings as DDR2 on the same voltages.

This has been my main bone of contention about switching to DDR3. Yes on paper it sounds so OMFG amazing but the timings make the gap a lot less than it seems.

Mind you having said that a recent look around shows that ram prices are coming back to sensible now. It'll be ages before I change out my cpu board and ram though.
