New Keyboard Suggestions

At the moment i'm using an emachines KB-0108 keyboard that came with an ancient Intel Celeron PC back around 2003ish time and even though it's surprisingly good for a keyboard of its age i think it's time for an upgrade. I really like the Steelseries 6Gv2, but the problem is it has no backlighting, which i would very much like to have. Also, it doesn't have a wrist rest which would be nice to have, though it's not necessary. I've also looked at the Roccat Isku, but that comes it at around £70, which is a little too much for me. The Corsair stuff looks good as it has Cherry MX Red keys, but the K60 has no backlighting and the K90 is over £90. So, i've posted this because i can't seem to find a suitable keyboard. The 6Gv2 is the best i've seen so far, but it has no backlighting.

So, ideally i'm looking for a mechanical keyboard around the £50 mark with backlighting and a wrist rest (though i could live without one), and one that doesn't have macro's, but if it does and is within budget that's perfectly fine. Also, Cherry MX Reds and Blacks seem to be my favourite looking switch types as i feel they will suit me best, but i will look into keyboards with other types too like MX Blues for example.

Thanks for the advice in advance

Oh, and i'm really not a fan of Razer stuff, so i doubt i'll be going for a Razer keyboard.

You had your last keyboard for ~9 years. Don't be afraid to spend a little extra.

To get what you want you will need to spend more. The K90 is a great looking keyboard and people seem to like it. There is a review in Member Reviews IIRC. If possible, go to a local shop and see if you can try out the different types of keys. I have Cherry MX Blue keys and love typing on that board.

I am willing to stretch my budget a bit if i feel the keyboard in question is awesome, and the K90 may just be one of them as it looks like a fantastic keyboard.

Cherry g80-3000 or a Steel Series 6GV2 with Cherry MX Blacks are a good bet. No gimmicks like backlighting and macros. If you can stretch to a Das Ultimate or a Filco Majestouch there is no comparison. There is no chance in hell of getting a mechanical (decent) under £90 with backlighting. The cheapest mechanical you an buy is the Cherry G80.

I have the Das Ultimate, and it is an awesome keyboard, if you're willing to spend the money for it i would definitely recommend it.

I've currently got the Corsair K90 kb, And for my first gaming keyboard I gotta say it's awesome

The mechanical switches are very responsive and the back lighting looks great

I got it for £110, which is pricey but well worth it

And this is why i don't like Razer products...

Btw, i'll most likely be getting a Corsair Vengeance K90, the choice has been made. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I just can't resist the K90, it looks so good!
