Intel have released two new Xeon CPU's aimed at servers and workstations. These new low-voltage processors are built on the 45nm process and run at just 50 watts.
I was thinking the same.. I don't know that much about the Quad Xeon line in all honesty but I did a lil research on Wiki before posting this so I knew what I was on about, and they have the lowest power consumption in the Quad Xeon range. Obviously not the most powerful but at a price that is a fair bit cheaper than the CPUs these are replacing they don't look bad.
i think there's some sad lonly geek, sat in a basement somwhere, who is employed at intel, who has signed up to every forum, and everytime someone picks a processor and buys it, gets on his walkie talkie and goes "time to release somthing better"
the nerds at intel then get busy and throw somthing new out in the next couple of days
