Hello all! I must say that Prometeia is God sent! I was just looking at reviews of the FX-60 and it seems to me that as I run older games (pre hyper -threading) I am better off with the Fx-57.

I have the Athlon 64 4000+, but I am not ready to buy anything new yet. All I need is more power without a CPU upgrade.

$900+ USD is a lot to spend on a gizmo (like my wife would call it), but I think the idea of not having to replace perfectly good chips for the sake of speed is priceless. My logic is this: I bought my 4000+ back when they 1st came out for $600 bucks, now this investment of $900 would pay for it's self in 2 upgrade cycles.

I like the Prometeia Mach II GT! Other than the AMD 64FX EasyMod CPU Kit, do I need anything else?

If there was one thing any of you would do different? What would it be?

First off, welcome to EP-UK :)

The GT is a great unit and most of the members here use them. Some are standard GT's, some are regassed and some are modded with desuper heater coils and new evaporator heads. This is a little extreme for your first unit and could get expensive.

I've had virtually all kinds of Mach unit, from the 1 up to the GT and I love them. Highly recommend one and they are great for keeping CPU's for longer meaning it's a longer term investment as you say :)

You would only need the unit and the CPU kit to get started. Some people like using DC4 but this isn't needed as a stock GT doesn't really suffer from condensation.

Hope that helps a little

Boardy

Ps. Had to remove the link from your post mate, EP-UK sells GT's ;)

welcome to the forum, I was under the impression you can specify the cpu headkit you want when you order and it is uncluded in the price.

Wellcome to the forum m8.:)

Just got me a mach 2 gt from here, lots of friendly people to help you if you get stuck what more could you ever need in life :D

Thanks guys! Phil you are correct! Like Boardy said, "You would only need the unit and the CPU kit to get started" :)

I am excited! I'm gonna order on Monday!

Hi X_Man :) i havent been a member here very long and everyone is very helpfull no that i have asked anything to technical as i am a new to this.

Phil - what about the Chilly1 Dry Ice/Liquid Nitrogen ContaineChilly1 Dry Ice/Liquid Nitrogen Container can anyone send me a website where I can possible compair with the Mach II GT?

I just wanna make sure I'm buying the best possible choice - thanks

Cant really give prices for those you would have to send a PM to Chilly1 over at XS.

Plus they arn't really comparable to a Mach 2 GT as they can only be used for limited periods of time

Order placed! I used CrazyPC because they have the Mach II GT on site. FrozenCPU doesn't carry the item on site - it will ship from manufacturer.

Thanks for the help guys - I will post my progress (ETA next Friday)
