New G94 9600GSO Revision

I was quite annoyed awhile back when ATI/AMD would introduce new (but different) cards with the same name, just adding more X's, e.g. x1950xtx. But this is absurd, completely different cards having the exact same name! Do we have to peel off the heat sink to find out what we bought? At least AMD got their nomenclature together on the 3xxx and 4xxx series. I would be inclined to buy a Radeon just because of this...

Nah, you can just look at the memory amount. The G92 versions are 384/768MB and these are 256/512MB. Agreed on it being pretty stupid though

Tbh I think the enthusiast should make a stand. It's all well and good marketing wize for them to put these on shelves and the public buy them as the 9600GSO - but, we should call them:

G94-120-A1 512m

and

210-B1 512m

with their clock speeds. 9600GSO doesnt really mean anything. And if ur ordering one online, u have to check these days whch version the vendor is selling.
